Organic Block Coconut Sugar produced with Organic Standards
In addition to organic granulated coconut sugar, we also produce organic block coconut sugar which we print into coins or tubes. It has higher moisture content than the granule. We also produce organic block coconut sugar according to Organic Standards. It has a proper size so that we can consume it easily. Also, it has a stronger aroma and taste, subtly sweet almost like brown sugar but with a slight hint of caramel. It has steady quality so that it can be reliable.
The popularity of coconut sugar drives us to provide the best sweetener because people realize the importance of being healthy and replace their sugar with organic sugar. We discover the best variant of sugar that is suitable to coalesce with any food and beverages.
Organic coconut block sugar is suitable for tea, coffee, milk, etc. The block shapes easy to consume our sweetener anywhere and anytime.
We select this organic coconut sugar from the time of harvest through an assessment of the quality of the liquid sap, and to a delicate cooking process that requires skill and attention from farmers so as not to lose the quality of the sap due to overripe or other mishandling. Quality and consistency, in every batch.
Nirasatria’s Organic Block Coconut Sugar originates from the lush Javanese landscape of the Indonesian archipelago. It pays tribute to the region’s proud farming heritage and integrates this with modern standards of quality control. Our sugar which we produce from coconut flower is a delicious and healthy alternative to cane sugar. It has a candy-like taste, comes from natural organic ingredients, is minimally processed, and is filter-free.
How it’s made
Neera, the nectar sap of the coconut flower blossom is harvested two times a day by our coconut farmers. Farmers climb the coconut palms and collect the sugar blossom nectar by gently slicing the flower. After harvesting, we transfer the nectar to the kettle. The process of evaporation lowers the water content of the nectar before it hardens into dense nectar “bricks”. We then boil the nectar juice until it thickens and changes color from clear to brown. Then we pour it into the mold into a coin or tube shape and then according to specifications. See more on how to make one below.
Packaging
Our company provides three different packaging services. We can provide you with our own label, with private label and bulk orders. Pricing for our own label and private label depends on the quantity and the size per package as well as the type of packaging. Therefore, we can quote you for our own label/private label on request.
Health Benefits
Coconut sugar offers a myriad of health benefits, especially when we compare it to something like white cane sugar. Some of these benefits include:
A lower impact on blood sugar levels (coconut sugar ranks just 35 on the glycemic index), suitable alternative for diabetics.
Higher amounts of vitamin C, potassium, phosphorous, magnesium, calcium, zinc, iron and copper.
Low fructose alternative (more suitable for those with sensitivities).
Contains phytonutrients, such as polyphenols, flavonoids, and antioxidants (anti-aging properties).
Contains the B vitamin inositol, often used as a mood booster.
Common Misconception
Coconut sugar is sometimes confused with Brown, Aren, or Arenga Sugar to the naked eye. Arenga sugar is another type of sweetener that derives from a different kind of palm tree (Arenga Pinnata) and yields a very distinctly different product.
Arenga wears a much darker brown colour, sometimes appearing black-tinted (thus its common name in some places, ‘Black Sugar Palm’); coconut sugar owns a brown that ranges from bright yellow to reddish-brown. In aroma, coconut sugar also displays caramel aroma notes not found in Arenga Sugar. The same caramel notes in sweetness are found in coconut sugar that are not found in Arenga sugar.
Application
Our coconut sugars come in soft molded into coin or tube form that gives the most convenience in food application. They dilute and melt easily, and are not easy to burn. Coconut caramel guarantees cooking success while keeping the blood sugar low.
