Homely Snack Idea: Caramel Popcorn

Popcorn is a buddy when watching movies. Chilling while watching a movie in your free time must feel empty if not accompanied by a snack such as popcorn. This snack which is made from corn kernels is usually cooked with margarine or butter. So it has a more dominant savory salty taste. However, nowadays many people also make unique creations by combining popcorn with caramel sauce. In contrast to original popcorn, caramel popcorn has a more dominant sweet taste. Ingredients
  • 5 quarts of popped popcorn
  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 cups arenga sugar
  • ½ cup corn syrup
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
Directions
  1. Heat butter (depending on the pan’s large) in a pan over medium heat.
  2. Add the popcorn kernels to the pan and shake it occasionally.
  3. Once the kernels start to pop, remove the pan from the heat and let the popcorn finish popping.
  4. Melt butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Stir in arenga sugar, corn syrup, and salt. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
  5. Boil without stirring for 4 minutes.
  6. Remove pan from heat and stir in vanilla and baking soda. Pour caramel sauce in a thin stream over popcorn while stirring. Stir until evenly coated.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven, stirring every 15 minutes, for 1 hour.
  8. Remove from oven and let cool completely before breaking into pieces.

That is a recipe to make caramel popcorn. In addition more affordable, you can adjust the sweetness and savory level of your caramel popcorn by making it at home. If you like more sweets, you can add more caramel sauce so the popcorn will be completely covered. But if you prefer savory, you can add more butter and reduce caramel sauce.
